The Unit 3 Snap Shackle Threaded Adapter is an essential component of the REFLEX FURLING system, a cable-less head swivel technology designed for advanced sailing vessels. This adapter is engineered specifically for use with the Reflex Unit 3 furling drive unit (Model 7353.10BASE), which serves monohull and multihull vessels equipped with asymmetric spinnakers or code zero sails.
The REFLEX FURLING Unit 3 system is rated for typical monohull applications with asymmetric spinnakers up to 13–17.7 meters (44–58 feet), or with code zero sails from 12–16.5 meters (39–54 feet). The system handles maximum sail areas of 223 m² (2400 ft²) for asymmetric spinnakers and 158 m² (1700 ft²) for code zero configurations. The torsion cable features a high-strength, low-stretch Dyneema core optimized for handling demanding halyard and luff loads.
The snap shackle threaded adapter (Part No. 7353.20) integrates seamlessly with the Reflex Unit 3 head swivel assembly and provides a threaded connection interface. This component is part of the broader Reflex furling ecosystem, which includes complementary parts such as the tack swivel terminal (7353.26), fixed tack terminal for code zero (7353.27), and optional adapters for alternative rigging configurations (7353.21, 7353.22).
Installation and operation should be performed by specialized personnel or expert users familiar with advanced furling systems. The system incorporates a drive sheave with 215 mm (8.47 inches) diameter and operates with 10 mm (3/8 inch) furling line. The snap shackle adapter has a specified dimension A of 88 mm (3.47 inches).
