The Harken 8T Aluminum V™ Block represents another breakthrough in Harken's loop block series, purpose-built for Grand-Prix racers who demand peak performance under the most demanding conditions. Harken engineers have simplified the block's mechanics by combining the axial and thrust bearings into a single bearing set of V-shaped titanium rollers — a bold innovation that reduces complexity without sacrificing reliability or load capacity.

The result is a strong, lightweight block that delivers unmatched efficiency at high loads while spinning freely at low loads, enabling smooth and effortless easing in light air. The wide titanium sheave is designed to accept multiple lines for sail changes or a single, high-load larger line that requires minimal deflection, making this block as versatile as it is powerful.

Construction features aluminum sideplates for strength and corrosion resistance, a titanium sheave for durability and low friction, and captive titanium roller bearings in a V-shaped arrangement that combines the functions of both axial and thrust bearings into one compact unit. The block's architecture keeps weight to an absolute minimum — just 712 g (25.12 oz) — while supporting maximum working loads up to 8,000 kg (17,600 lb) and breaking loads of 16,000 kg (35,200 lb).

Designed for ease of maintenance, V blocks can be completely disassembled for inspection and servicing in the field. The block accepts lines up to 18 mm (11/16 in) and features a 104 mm (4 3/32 in) sheave diameter, with an overall length of 136 mm (5 3/8 in). Loop attachment hardware is not included and must be sourced separately.
