Harken 70mm Protexit™ Exit Block
Designed for sailors who push their gear to the absolute limit, the Harken 70mm Protexit™ Exit Block redefines what a halyard exit block can endure. Whether you're ripping through back-to-back hoists and douses on windward-leeward legs or demanding consistent performance over a full racing season, Protexit blocks are built to protect your results and your equipment.
Traditional halyard exit blocks suffer from side angle loading that gradually wears through sideplates, compromising performance and requiring costly replacement. The Protexit design eliminates this problem entirely. Its all-aluminum, wear-resistant housing carefully guides line in and out at any angle, while aluminum sheaves rotate on precision sleeve bearings fitted with Delrin® sideload balls. This combination prevents deformation under extreme loads and significantly reduces wear on the halyard itself — keeping both block and line in service longer.
The 70mm Protexit Exit Block offers the highest working loads of any small boat exit block in Harken's lineup, with a maximum working load of 2000 kg (4409 lb) and a breaking load of 4000 kg (8818 lb). It accommodates line up to 12 mm (1/2 in) in diameter and uses 6 mm (1/4 in) flathead fasteners for secure installation on mast or deck. Each block is clearly labeled with part number, line diameter, maximum working load, and directional arrows for quick, accurate rigging.
