My Sahara 1100 worked great, FOR ONE YEAR! After one year, the auto function no longer works, just the manual. The float is making a connection, but nothing happens. I will replace it with any pump other than another one of these. This product is a poor design if it only last a year. Don't install on a boat that is put in the environment of the ocean!

No amateur at installing these, this one refuses to shut off. Poor design on float switch. Even worse customer service. I called Attwood 3 times, left 3 messages with no return call.

I installed the pump bought at West less than a year ago. It is one of three pumps. I frequently check bilge water levels but don't know when this pump failed. It could have been months ago. This is not the first one to fail prematurely.

Comments about Attwood 750gph Automatic Bilge Pump, 2.5a @ 12v Dc Draw, 3/4" Port:

I bought this to use in a 16 ft skiff that I leave in the water. The boat does not have scuppers so I needed something to pump out standing water, particularly rain. So far it has worked great. When it turns on a very strong stream of water is pumped out draining most of the water in the boat very quickly. I say most of the water because I had to mount the pump on a heavy board so it would not float and to keep it level so it sits about 1 1/2 inches above the lowest point. Also, it needs to be mounted to something because when it turns on the motor is strong enough to knock the pump over making it useless. The water left in the boat does not cause a problem and can be bailed easily. I rigged it to the battery so it can be plugged and unplugged easily.

I replaced an old attwater pump that worked for 15 years with this one. The mounting is different so had to start from scratch. Pump turns on but won't cut off. After a whole day of fiddling with it and remounting it 5 times, I figured out that the float is not heavy enough to turn off the pump switch when all the water is gone. It would probably work on a moving boat where the vibration of the boat would get it to work, but at dock or on the trailer the pump would run until the battery goes dead. Bad design

I've bought two so far - very disappointed. Once they turn on they won't turn off. Ran the battery flat.

Being used as a secondary pump located forward. Great little pump that moves & lifts water very well. Really haven't found any downside.
