Comments about Hand Held Floating VHF Radio with Bluethooth Wireless:

We ran into an emergency situation and my fixed mount icom unit was receiving but the transmissions were not clear. I pulled out my Cobra unit that I just purchased as a back up due to the great price and my transmission was crystal clear. In this instance , I don't know what I would have done without this unit. I was surprised that the transmission was clearer than my fixed mount icom that was very expensive. I now keep this on my belt all the time.

Comments about Hand Held Floating VHF Radio with Bluethooth Wireless:

I have been using this radio on harbor patrols as a back up. I keep it clipped on the shoulder of my PFD so I can monitor calls while underway. My dash radio is sometimes hard to hear over engine noise especially when powered up. I can better monitor all calls and the playback feature is very useful if you need a message repeated. The Bluetooth feature is also convenient. Overall: great radio at a great price.

Comments about Hand Held Floating VHF Radio with Bluethooth Wireless:

A great radio that is fully loaded with features, including the unique ability to make cell phone calls and replay transmissions. I own the previous version of this radio, the 475 and have returned it 3 times for water related damage.

This new housing may be better at withstanding salt spray, but be advised. Cobra replaced the units with no hassles, BTW.
