Comments about Sit in Impulse Kayak:

I use this kayak to commute, 7 minutes, 5 days a week to cross a harbor. It's very light, fast enough, stable and maneuvers well. The only gripe I have with this kayak is that I don't suggest using it on very rainy days or using it on ocean swells since it is a sit-in-kayak where water does not self drain. I use it for one purpose and it suits me fine.

Comments about Sit in Impulse Kayak:

We have a number of kayaks, I've paddeled many more, and the shear simplicty makes this our favorite for boat-based paddeling. Easy to slide on-and-off the deck, fast and straigh tracking for its size group, stable in rough water, and nothing to break (3 years regular use include class 1-2 whitewater).

While other kayaks have specific strengths--long sea boats, manueverable whitewater boats, heavier fishing and rec kayaks--for a carry-on-the-sidedeck kayak, this delivers the best package.

Comments about Sit in Impulse Kayak:

I have spent a lot of time on kayaking over the years and on many different models going up to 16' touring kayaks on weekend "journeys" down rivers and sounds.

My wife is new to paddling so we bought two Impulse 10.0 kayaks for Christmas and went out Christmas day. She enjoyed it, had an easy time handling the vessel and never fatigued during our three hour tour.

I found the Impulse incredibly comfortable, easily controlled with good tracking, and with enough storage (above and below deck) to carry all that i thought i would need for a day trip on Christmas (expecting colder climate).

If your looking for a kayak in this size range, I highly recommend this kayak. It has exceeding my expectations as a budget kayak. I do want to invest in a skirt for these winter paddles...my lap/legs got a little wet and chilly.
