DAVIS INSTRUMENTS
Shockles® LineSnubber™

These line snubbers absorb shock on dock lines, booms, dinghies and much more. The patented Progressive Tension Shockles system means that the harder the pull on the Shockle, the stiffer the tension becomes, gradually absorbing any shock load to your boat, cleats, chocks or pad eyes. Use to keep constant tension on your dock lines; take the shock out of a boom preventer; soften the pull on D-rings when towing a tender; tie down your boom without tensioning your running rigging; or as a shock-absorbing tack line for lightweight asymmetric spinnakers. Captive 316 stainless steel carabiners can’t be lost. Sun- and abrasion-resistant nylon webbing cover. All parts rated to at least 2,500lb. MWL.

Line Grabbers broke in less than 3 months

      Comments about Shockles LineSnubber:

Installed Shockles LineSnubber on both stern line and aft spring line on 35 foot Chris Craft docked on open water of Detroit River. Performed as advertised for two months absorbing current and wave shocks, however small line grabber used to attach snubber to dock line failed during recent storm. Actual snubbers are great, however the line grabbers are a weak link and should to be sized larger.

Comments about Davis Instruments Shockles LineSnubber:

With one Shockles on one dock line, all the other lines stayed taught through high winds that would normally make all lines slack. This product protects the boat and the dock.

          Comments about Shockles LineSnubber:

At the suggestion of the company I used one rigged with my preventer line on my 36' Catalina. Without the Shockle I was getting a real slam to my boom everytime the wind switched. With the Shockle there was no slamming and my boat was much happier.

          Service and delivery comments:

I called the company with a question and they gave very prompt and efficient advice.

            Comments about Shockles LineSnubber:

I HAD THESE ON ALL MY DOCK LINES DURING A RECENT STORM. WHILE MANY OTHER BOATS AROUND ME GOT SLAMMED AGAINST THE DOCKS AND ENDED UP WITH BROKEN LINES AND OTHER PARTS, THE SHOCKLES KEPT MY BOAT TOTALLY SAFE AND UNDAMAGED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

            Service and delivery comments:

I HAD A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BEST WAY TO ATTACH THEM TO MY DOCK LINES AND I WROTE THE COMPANY. THE ACTUAL PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY RESPONDED DIRECTLY TO ME IMMEDIATELY WITH DETAILED SUGGESTIONS. NOW THAT'S GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

              Comments about Shockles LineSnubber:

I've used these for a couple years on my 44' Beneteau for all sorts of uses. I rig them on my dock lines when in choppy marinas, on my anchor rode to reduce the stress on my anchor and windlass, to reduce wear and tear on my tender when I tow it, and as an addition to my preventer line on the boom. They attach easily and are very well made.
