Icom’s MXA-5000 takes real time information from the AIS system and displays it on a computer, radar or a chartplotter for easy navigation and collision avoidance at a glance. The MXA-5000 receives both Class A and Class B signals simultaneously. Its full duplex receiver allows for easy and efficient handling of the information without missing critical data. Built-in antenna splitter means there is no need for multiple antennas onboard, or to buy expensive aftermarket splitters. The MXA-5000 splits the input signal for Receive and protects itself when your VHF radio transmits. MXA-5000 outputs AIS data using the NMEA 0183 format for easy connectivity to most radars, chartplotters, and navigation systems.

Comments about Icom Mxa-5000 Dual Channel "receive Only" Marine Ais Receiver:
I installed this unit during an electronics upgrade on my boat and now don't know how I lived without it. It has been very valuable on the Mississippi River as all the commercial tow boats have AIS installed and now I know in real time exactly where the traffic is that will cause delays in lockage and problems navigating the tight turns in the river channel. It was very easy to install and my RayMarine C-Series displays interfaced with it seamlessly.
