Micron® CF Antifouling Paint
Frequently Bought Together
Multi-season, self-smoothing, copper-free antifouling paint with Biolux® Slime Blocking Technology
Micron CF is a multi-season antifouling paint that instead of traditional copper, uses Econea and Biolux Slime Blocking Technology to keep hulls free of barnacles, zebra mussels and soft growth. Micron CF's copper-free formula helps to keep our boating waters clean, and also makes it a great choice for boats kept in marinas where copper-based antifouling paints are not allowed.
Like other paints in the Micron line, Micron CF wears away at a controlled rate and self-polishes as the boat is used, which reduces drag and helps to increase fuel efficiency. An additional benefit of this self-polishing technology is that less sanding is required when the time comes to repaint.
Micron CF can be applied to fiberglass, wood, steel and yes-on to aluminum hulls, since the copper-free formula will not cause galvanic corrosion. Micron CF is high in solids, VOC compliant and available in five crisp colors: Black, Blue, Red, Green and White.

Get the right amount of paint:
Boat Type | Bottom Paint |
---|---|
10' Dinghy | 1 qt. |
14' Outboard | 1-2 qt. |
18' Runabout | 2 qt. |
20' Sailboat | 3 qt. |
24' Runabout | 3-4 qt. |
30' Sailboat | 1.5 gal. |
32' Cruiser | 1.5-2 gal. |
36' Auxiliary | 2 gal. |
40' Cruiser | 2.5 gal. |
45' Sailboat | 3-3.5 gal |
50' Sportfisher | 4+ gal. |
Another way to determine bottom paint quantity is to estimate the approximate surface area of the hull below the waterline, using the following formula:
Length x Beam x .75 = Approximate underwater surface area in square feet.
Each paint has a “theoretical coverage” area, but most paints require at least two coats, so you can expect actual coverage to be no greater than half of the theoretical value.
