NEXUS, A GARMIN COMPANY 103R Compasses

Designed specifically for the Laser, these compasses have long been the standard for Laser racing. Securely held in place by two slides that screw to the deck, or with the optional Deck Spider that attaches to Laser deck without drilling holes. 103R compasses have a well damped 4" card with either a double red/green tactical front reading scale (360° scale on top), or a 360° front and top reading scale.

The 103RE (Racing Elite) double scale is divided into a green starboard and red port scale, so you can read the actual course from the normal helming position on the rail. You do not need to add 45° to your reading. The green and red scale allows you to tack if the number decreases on starboard tack, or to tack if it increases on port. The top scale allows you to read your course downwind or to check the starting line angle.
