Comments about Raymarine SeaTalk Backbone Kit:
You would be better off using a true NMEA 2000 standard data bus and buy on the minimal Raymarine cables needed to interface to that standard. Raymarine cables are way to expensive and offer only one benefit, they are slightly smaller, if you need to fish the wire through a hole in a bulkhead. We are talking 1/4" difference--not enough to be a factor in purchasing.
