GREAT PRODUCT

These are small and very useful. You can unclip it from the bracket and carry it like a torch.

I bought these lights twice. The first time I took a pair to the Caribbean and mounted them on my boat. They worked fine although the lens that covers the solar panel got cloudy and the sun ruined the lens after 2-3 years, although they kept working. Well, I ordered another pair and again, took them to the Caribbean where we sail for 6-7 months each year. The second set of lights wouldn't work. At night, with the switch turned on, the second set both became blinkers, irregular strobes. We tried everything but couldn't get them to stop blinking on and off. So, I can't recommend these lights. If you do decide to give them a try, please save the receipt in case you need to send them back.

Comments about Davis Instruments RailLight Mini Solar-Powered Light:

Out of the package i got 3 hrs light. New batteries...4 hours. Batteries are difficult to change. Instructions were for changing some other version....need a #10 AND a #8 torx driver....and tiny fingers. Less than adequate engineering. Tiny wood screws in plastic parts?????
The bracket is nice. It would be worth it if it lasted 8 hours.

I like the quality. For marine use it is so far excellent. The light is very bright so excellent for an anchor light. Now I dont have to remember to turn the anchor light on and off... she says smiling.

I use two on the bow (& two of the regular @ the stern) for lighting. Their main purpose tho is to ID the boat @ mooring when returning at night by launch. They're a great help when in unfamiliar harbors.

This was advertised as lasting up to 8 hours. This past winter when the days are very short I tested this light and it lasted for 14 hours. This is a perfect light to keep on your boat when anchored. I have two of them.

Comments about Davis Instruments RailLight Mini Solar-Powered Light:

I bought the mini version after buying the larger RailLight. I really like the look of the light and it is not noticeable in the day time. Doesn't seem to last as long as my RailLight; usually 5 hours or so. The product has held up in the elements with no rust, or discoloration on the solar panel. The clamp set is interchangeable with the RailLight which is a nice touch.
