I bought two of these to place at the bow and stern of my vessel to save on boat battery power running an anchor light all night when I am out on the boat. They have been very successful, giving a bright light all night. I have had them a year now with no problems either functionally or cosmetically. Looking at other reviews, I would say that my strategy of keeping them inside the boat out of the harsh marine environment when they are not being used, but stored in the sunlight to keep their batteries charged, is a necessary way to care for them if you want them to be long lasting and not rust.

Comments about Davis Instruments RailLight Premium Solar-Powered Light:

Very impressed with my new RailLight Premium Solar-Powered Light ,it was delivered when they said it would be, packaged properly and the light is well made ,i didnt get home till late afternoon and only had a few hours of day light left ,but i set it up right away ,and with only 4 hours to charge , it still was enough to get a charge , i didnt expect it to turn on with such a short exposure to sun light ,but it sure did and the LED,s give off a decent amount of light , and to have a swicth that allows you to have two light settings while also being able to shut the light off is great ,i will be ordering more of these very soon

Comments about Davis Instruments RailLight Premium Solar-Powered Light:

This light is perfect for out live-aboard trawler. The light provides light for those moving about the boat ensuring they will not trip on a line or miss a step going up to the bridge. Best is no longer having to worry about replacing batteries.

Comments about Davis Instruments RailLight Premium Solar-Powered Light:

We just spent 5 months at Anchor in Roatan Island Honduras. The Sollights shined bright the whole time and helped identify our position. These lights work great when you put one on your bow pulpit and one at your stern rail. Used in combination with a mast mounted LED anchor light, your boat will stand out in a dark anchorage, without using a lot of power.
