Comments about T H Marine Hi-Jacker Fixed Jack Plate:

This product is very sturdy. I was looking to raise my Mercury 9.8 hp outboard 2.5 inches on my 12 foot aluminum boat with a 15 inch transom. The motor shaft height is 17.5 inches (not 15) so I needed the 2.5 inches to get the ventilation plate level with the bottom of the hull. With the 4 inch set back on the jack plate I had to raise it another 3/8 inches for a total of 2 and 7/8 inches that was needed to achieve what I wanted. The only problem was my motor mount clamp screws would hit the transom that the plate was mounted to so I had to set it just right. There was no adjustment or room for error. After it was installed I took the boat out and it turns easier and gets to plane faster. It was exactly what I wanted. It was a little pricey for an easy fix but worth it.

Comments about T H Marine Hi-Jacker Fixed Jack Plate:

It is a well built product. I was looking to raise my Mercury 9.8 hp outboard up 2.5 inches on my 12 foot aluminum boat with a 15 inch transom. The motor mounting height is 17.5 inches. I got the ventilation plate 3/8 inch above the boat bottom for the 4" set back so I actually raise it 2 and 7/8 inches. The problem is there is no room for error or adjustment. The thumb screw handles will hit the transom that you are mounting off of if you don't get it right. Fortunately I saw this before buying it and figured I would give it a try. I got exactly what I wanted with no room to spare. My motor has a better response on turns and gets up to plane easier.
