Comments about Heavy Duty Trailer Guide On Kit:

When going down the highway with the bracket fastened to trailer I must remove 60 inch plastic tubes as they protruded into both lanes on either side of my trailer. The angle should have been manufactured to 90 degrees rather than the 115 degrees. No help from West Marine or the manufacturer. Will try and install with a treated lumber 25 degree wedge. I need these things on the trailer to get my Seward 25 wing keeled sailboat on the trailer.

Comments about Heavy Duty Trailer Guide On Kit:

Tried numerous times to get the PVC posts to fit over the brackets. I filed the ends of the brackets. I mae the ends of the brackets smaller in a vice. Finally had to buy standard PVC and cut my own posts...they fit perfectly.

The brackets manufactured to correct configuration. Brackets came with ~ 110 degree angle. I had to take them to a machine shop to bend to 90 degrees. As designed, the brackets angled the guideposts so far away from the boat it looked more like outriggers then trailer guides.

Finally, after just a few uses the brackets are rusting.

              This product is junk.

Comments about Heavy Duty Trailer Guide On Kit:

This product is for guiding the boat ONTO the trailer, not for backing the trailer up, as the previous reviewer suggested. They do work for backing up, but that is not what they are for. I have a keel on my sailboat that has to be centered, thus the trailer has to be deep. These help me guide the boat right on.

Comments about Heavy Duty Trailer Guide On Kit:

Used to spot trailer when backing. It does the job but not much there for the price. The red caps where cheap, thin plastic. Ending up replacing them with a standard pvc pipe cap like my previous set.

              Service and delivery comments:

Ordered on-line for delivery to the store. Ordered on 9-17-11 and not received until 10-7-11. The brick and mortar store did not seem to have good communication with the on-line store.
