Just plug the panel directly into your Ultralight or Travel 503/1003 electric outboard and charge your battery wherever you want—even while operating your motor. 40-45W output provides continuous running at speeds up to 2.5mph in small dinghies and kayaks or fully charges the 520Wh battery of the Travel 1003 models from 0 to 100% in approximately 13 hours without the need for a separate inverter or external charger.

Monolithically integrated solar panel (thin film on plastic) is truly rollable, fully weatherproof and specifically designed for marine use with heavy-duty perimeter grommets for secure attachment and easy removal. Measures 58" x 36" unrolled, rolls down to a compact, 39 3/8" x 6 5/16". Includes protective case for transport and storage. Limited warranty: 80% of specified performance after two years

Comments about Roll Up 45W Solar Battery Charger:

It would be better if it put out more power. It costs entirely too much for a 45watt rollup panel .

Comments about Roll Up 45W Solar Battery Charger:

So far it seems pretty reliable but it does need to be right angled to the sun with no haze or cloud obstructing it to get the 42 volts to start it charging the lithium cell. Although the grommets to attach it to a boat work well it would have been useful to have some way it could be locked as I tend to leave it out on a roof and somebody could easily cut round the grommets. It is waterproof and sea salt proof and seems quite rugged and apparently works with other 24 volt devices although I haven't tried this yet.

    Service and delivery comments:

Firstly the product Westmarine sell is not this 62 Watt foldable panel but the 45 watt torqeedo/powerfilm rollable panel designed for the torqeedo outboard. I didn't recieve the warranty card with it and the attachment to the battery was the wrong thread and they still have not dealt with this so am not impressed with their service.

Comments about Roll Up 45W Solar Battery Charger:

This 24V panel charges the Torqeedo 1003 lithium battery faster than the 120V charger because it charges at 24V instead of the wall chargers 12V output. The battery can be charged at either, it auto selects. I built a PVC T-Top for my dingy that I put the panel on for use while under way to keep the panel elevated and out of the way. The panel assist's the battery by 62W under way to extend range and re-charges it while stopped. I can use the Torqeedo stop-and-go a good part of the day and stay at or relatively close to 100% battery so after dark I have plenty of "Get-Home" juice. I can re-charge at home without consuming any 120V power. The con is an M.P.P.T. charge controller that converts 24V to 12V would be required to use the panel to charge 12V lead/acid or AGM type house batteries and this item is about $240. Without the MPPT controller/converter, the panel is only good for 24V applications. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars is due to the high cost. If the Torqeedo is operated under way with the panel attached at less than 62W motor draw, your running the dingy on pure solar, depending on the vessel you are pushing, this will be at about 1-3 knots of speed.
