Comments about Bronze Oarlocks and Sockets:

The oar lock bushings that are standard on some West Marine oar locks look like a good idea to prevent the oar locks from wearing out from repeated use. While they do that, they suffer, deteriorate and crumble in a couple of years due to UV. So, you have to replace them every couple of years at a small cost, however, some of the replacements do not fit tightly enough, such that they come out of the oar lock when you remove the oar. They then often fall into the water. Luckily they float, so you just have to fish them out and put them back into the oar lock, so you can repeat the process next time, until they fall apart again. Essentially a good idea, executed poorly.

Comments about Bronze Oarlocks and Sockets:

Have to replace the plastic liners once or twice a season, regardless of the amount of use the oarlocks get. Plastic seem a little too brittle or hard, due to sunlight?

Comments about Bronze Oarlocks and Sockets:

I purchased these for my dinghy after a friend lost my old ones. They are solid and work well. The only issue is that the surface seem to be of an inconsistent quality. One stains easily but the other does not. They are solid and should last a long time.

Comments about Bronze Oarlocks and Sockets:

The "curvy" shape of the top of the socket, which I wanted to countersink into the rail provided a bit of a challenge.
