An extreme example of how durable and insulated a cooler can be, YETI coolers are built to last. Quality starts with strong, seamless, roto-molded, polyethylene construction, which unlike the “blow-molded” construction of some other brands, is the same as that employed in the rugged hulls of today’s whitewater kayaks. Ice keeping ability is excellent, with 2" of insulation in the walls and 3" in the lids, which include a freezer-style sealing gasket to keep the cold in and the heat out. Details include fail-safe, molded-in T-latch keepers and full-length self-stopping hinge that won’t hyper-extend and break. Other outstanding features include nonslip, non-marking rubber feet to keep the cooler where you place it, recessed drain plug with rubber washer for leak-proof reliability, molded in tie-down points, textured grip handles with nylon rope attachment to make carrying easier and dry-goods rack to keep your favorite munchies dry.

  • Material: Roto-molded polyethylene shell; Injected polyurethane insulation
  • Latches: T-Rex rubber latches with molded-in keepers
  • Hinges: Full-length, self-stopping integrated hinge
  • Drain Plug: Gasketed, screw-in plug designed to allow water to drain when partially opened

I received the Yeti 160 as a gift from my wife after the birth of our son. The first time I used the cooler was for a 6 day camping trip in the Sierra Nevada and the cooler far exceeded my expectations. On the trip to our destination the cooler was in direct sunlight on a 105 degree day in an uncovered trailer for over 4 hours. The remainder of the trip we were at a campground at around 4000 ft. where the day time highs were in the 90's and the overnight lows were in the 60's. To make a long story short after 12 days I still had 6 or 7 half melted 10lbs blocks of ice left. How I packed my cooler was as follows. A week before my trip I purchased 80 lbs of loose ice and 8-10lb blocks and stored them in my chest freezer @ 20 below zero. Also at the same time I pre-chilled beer, sodas, water and froze any meat that was going as well. I left my Yeti in the house for a few days in the air conditioning to ensure it was at room temperature and not overheated from the 100+ degree temperatures outside. Then two days before I had to pack the coolers I placed 40 lbs of ice in the cooler to pre-chill it. I then disposed of that ice when I packed the cooler. I packed the cooler by placing 4-4lb Yeti Ice and 2-1lb Yeti ice at the bottom and I put 10 lbs of dry ice in the spaces. Then I put 6 or 7 (I can't remember) 10lb blocks of ice on top of the Yeti Ice. Then added all of the pre-chilled food and frozen meat. After that I filled in all the gaps with around 40 lbs of loose ice. The ice took up alot of space but the cooler is so big it didn't matter. We had food and drinks for 6 people for 6 days. (Yeti 75 was full of beer also) As the days went by the non Yeti coolers ran out of ice and we starting moving items from those coolers into my 160. I had the cooler in the shade the whole time under my pop up and was opened and used a lot each day. After we returned from our trip the cooler was left in the 120 + degree garage for another 6 days full of drinks and ice. When I emptied the cooler on day 12 there was still plenty of ice, cold water and frosty drinks.

Used the cooler for the first time over Memorial Day weekend. Other coolers were on the boat and fared as well or better on maintaining ice. I left water in the cooler so I'm wondering if I should have drained some each time I added more ice.

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

My Yeti 35 Cooler is absolutely the best cooler that I have ever purchased in my entire life. Even though the price is a little more than generic cooler, you will never find another cooler that meets or exceeds your expectations in all facets.

    The Real Deal

    By SK12

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

This cooler is as good as it gets. Large enough to hold a few limits of Tautog or Sea Bass with a couple of Striped Bass mixed in. Small enough to carry by yourself. Fits perfectly in the back of my Nissan Xterra. Recently drove across the country with this cooler full of frozen Tautog, Sea Bass, Striped Bass and Mahi fillets. The 6 day road trip started in Rhode Island and ended in Oregon. I prepped the cooler with ice the day before the trip and when I arrived in Oregon I was pleased to find all of my fillets still frozen! Can't get any better!

    Versatile Cooler

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

Really enjoy the versatility of this cooler. It's the perfect size to keep in the bay boat but it is small enough to carry over to the fillet table by yourself. Unmatched durability and performance.

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

The Tundra 75 is the perfect size. We have a 35 and a 110. We love them all but this is the perfect addition for the pontoon. As always, Yeti never disappoints!

    Works Great!

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

We bought this cooler a few weeks ago and are so glad that we did! We have been doing a lot of weekend camp trips and needed a cooler that would keep our food and cold all weekend long. We sure found that with our Tundra 65! That thing keeps our ice all weekend long and our drinks are almost too cold to drink. The only thing I wish we would've done differently was get a 75 instead so we would have a little more room to pack it full! We plan to by one of the soft coolers next!

It''s everything it's cracked up to be.

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

We bought the Tundra 35 for a road trip from Portland, Maine, to Port Isabel, Texas. We stocked it with a 10 lb bag of ice plus ice from our ice maker (for drinks), cold drinks, cold cuts, and fruit. We supplemented it every couple of nights with a bucket of hotel ice. We still had Maine ice when we got to Texas. Yeti is the best.

    Kept the ice

    By watermom

Comments about YETI Tundra 35 Cooler, Ice Blue:

I bought this cooler to use for my job as I work in the hot, humid south and am out doors a lot of the time. I worked all along the SC coast before and after Hurricane Matthew and getting ice would be sparse. I filled my cooler before going to the coast and it kept everything cold and ice was still there after 5 days.
