NEW ENGLAND ROPES

Premium White Three-Strand Nylon Line (Per Foot)

Combining premium nylon fiber with a high-quality marine coating and New England Rope’s superior manufacturing processes produces line that is five times more abrasion-resistant when wet than any other nylon line. You can actually feel this critical performance advantage when you handle the supple line. The finish lubricates individual yarn fibers so they resist moisture penetration, which dramatically increases resistance to abrasion, both internally and externally, and helps keep the line supple throughout its life. Stretch: 12% at 20% of breaking strength.

    Storm rope

Have a 25 lb danforth with 30 feet of chain, sixty five feet of half inch this brand, anchoring my 30 foot 8500 lb fiberglass sailboat. Have been through some storms caught by surprise with no time to put out a second anchor. Been standing on the bow in fourty mph winds with waves bouncing the boat five feet up and down. Rope holding no problem. It's hard to accept that this stuff really is that strong; it's so small. According to ratings my chain will go before this stuff does, and the shackles long before that. Only downside is chafe. Wrap it in leather at bow points.

Comments about Premium White Three Strand Nylon Line (Per Foot):

For my Morgan 41 Classic, I bought two 600ft spools of New England 3-strand nylon: one 5/8in and one 3/4in. I made my own custom length docklines from the 5/8in with eye splices in the ends. And I made four 150ft anchor lines with thimbles and shackles on each end. I sold what little line I had left over to my liveaboard friends. Buying by the spool was much more economical over buying pre-cut lengths.

Comments about Premium White Three Strand Nylon Line (Per Foot):

I bought 42 feet of this to replace the smaller dock lines on my Catalina 25 sailboat. I'm a do-it-yourselfer, and like to customize line lenght, eye splices, etc. to fit my boat and the dock. The line works great, and is easy to splice into loops. I did find, however, that the individual strands tend to unravel if not swaged with tape or string. Once I started doing that, the process went smoothly. The dock lines are installed, and I'm confident that this sturdy line will hold for a long time.

This 3 strand nylon line is excellent for back braiding knots. The color coded strands make it easy to keep the 3 strands seperate.
I have used it for 2 seasons so far and our boat is docked in the river for 5 months per year.
So far the ropes have held up. I think I will replace them after this season.
                  I used the 1/2" & 3/8" rope. Wellcraft 186ss
