West Marine (Nasdaq:WMAR), the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies and accessories, will introduce the Isotherm Smart Energy Control (ISEC) at the Miami International Boat Show.  The Isotherm Smart Energy Control (ISEC) maximizes the performance of your boat’s refrigeration system automatically. When the engine or shore power charger is on, the ISEC will lower the temperature in your refrigerator to take advantage of the “free” energy available, and will use the extra-cool contents to “store cold”. When it’s time to operate using battery power, the ISEC will slow down the compressor to maximize the efficiency of the system, allowing the temperature to rise for greater savings. The result is up to a 50% reduction in energy consumption.

“The ISEC is ideal for cruising sailors who already use one of the very popular refrigeration systems utilizing a Danfoss compressor. This inexpensive add-on can greatly reduce the amount of energy necessary to keep items cold onboard,” said Chuck Hawley, West Marine’s VP of Product Information.

Customers can visit West Marine’s booth at the Miami International Boat Show or online via www.westmarine.com to learn more about the Isotherm Smart Energy Control or any of West Marine’s 75,000 other product offerings.
