Are these waterproof boots made for work or play? Yes.
Mud? No problem. Muck? No problem. Puddles? No problem. City streets? No problem.
Sure, Sorel's Out N About Leather Duck Boots look fetching. (When was the last time you heard that word?) Where they really come into their own is when the weather gets sloppy. We're not saying you have to get them wet to appreciate them...but if you do...not only are they going to keep your feet as dry as Phoenix in the summertime, their vulcanized rubber outsoles will stop you from slip slidin' away.
Let's face it, how often are most of us really going to need a 15" tall boot to keep our feet dry? Standing on a sailboat deck with waves crashing over the bow or wading through 14" deep creeks aside, we just need protection from that awful gray slush that quickly forms as the first snow melts, the little puddles that form where the gutter leaks outside the yacht club door or the muck that collects as you shovel out the stall where you board your warmblood gelding. At just over 4 1/2" tall, Sorel's Out N About Leather Duck Boots fill that space AND are every bit as awesome on those foggy days and nights that require something besides sneakers.
The Out N About's low-profile silhouette features waterproof full-grain leather uppers with seam-sealed construction that ensures water doesn't intrude through those typically weak points. The removable, molded EVA footbed features a cotton topcover for more all-day comfort than you usually find in such rugged boots. Utilizing a canvas liner also gives these boots an air of breathability that you don't get with ordinary rubber rainboots. Underneath is a handcrafted, waterproof, vulcanized rubber shell with a herringbone outsole for a nonslip grip wherever you may roam. Imported.
