The Fendertex Spherical Fender S70 is a premium inflatable textile boat fender manufactured in France and engineered for superior performance on larger vessels. Often used as a handheld rover fender during docking maneuvers due to its wide profile, it also serves as a standard fender in applications requiring greater standoff distance from the dock. The outer shell is produced using a patented one-piece tubular knit construction from high and low tenacity 100% polyester yarn — with no seams or welding — delivering outstanding resistance to both compression and tensile forces. Fendertex claims this to be the lightest fender in the world, up to 95% lighter than equivalent PVC fenders.

The inner bladder is constructed from polyurethane with 500% elasticity, welded using high-frequency welding, and is adapted for the marine environment. Critically, the bladder is independent of the textile shell, meaning it can be replaced in the event of a puncture without replacing the entire fender. Inflation and deflation are fast thanks to the secure empty-fast valve, and once deflated the fender reduces to approximately 50% of its inflated size for easy stowage aboard.

All Fendertex textile fenders are dyed in mass, providing high resistance to UV degradation and color fading. The patented salt-resistant knitting technique was developed for the superyacht market to limit abrasion on hull paint and gelcoat. The fender is easy to maintain and is machine washable at 40°C. Stainless steel D-rings are fitted at the top, with the suspension strap sewn in a cross configuration for added strength, and a lower retention strap prevents deformation of the collar during compression. Water can also be added to the inner bladder to act as ballast.
