The Unit 3 Forked Tack Swivel Terminal is a critical component of the Harken Reflex furling system designed for headsail handling. This modular system uses a quick-release T-fitting that allows a single drive unit to accommodate multiple sails, providing flexibility and efficiency in sail management.
The terminal features a low-friction ball bearing tack swivel that allows the upper part of the sail to furl first, ensuring smooth and reliable furling operation. Rolled sails disconnect easily with a simple pull of a spring-loaded pin, while new furled sails slide and lock securely into the T-slot. This design facilitates quick sail changes without the need for complex deck procedures.
Tack swivels are available with both fork and pin interfaces, making it easy to adapt existing sails with torsion cables finished with eyes to the Reflex furling system. Head and tack swivels are permanently fitted to each sail for optimal performance and durability.
