What accessories do you need for your kayak?

Suffice it say that just about anything you can get for a boat, you can get for your kayak. Aside from your kayak, a paddle and a life jacket, everything else serves to make your time on the water more comfortable, efficient or helpful. Our tremendous selection of accessories is enough to satisfy any gadget freak or gear hound. What follows is a partial list of the kayak gear you might want to consider:

  • Seats: Adding a padded seat to a built-in molded seat will result in better comfort for the long haul.
  • Anchors: Anglers and divers often need to secure their kayak in a location against wind and current.
  • Rudders: Allow you to add extra hands-free turning and tracking performance.
  • Bilge Pumps: An easier way to bail out your sit-inside kayak.
  • Fishing Gear: Your options are almost endless here. From fishing crates to rod holders to trolling motors.
  • Dollies: Help to get you to and from the water’s edge without wrecking your back.
  • Storage Racks: Safely secure your kayak to a bigger boat, the dock, your wall or ceiling.
  • Transport Racks: Getting there is more fun with the right rack for your rig.
  • Inflation Pumps: Whether manual or electric, a pump will get your inflatable kayak on the water faster.
  • Covers: Protect your kayak from the elements (ants and spiders, too) when stored outdoors.
  • Skirts: Stay warm and dry in your sit-inside kayak when the air and/or water temperature dips.
  • Paddle Leashes: Tether your paddle to your kayak so you’ll never be up a creek without it.
  • Mounts: We’ve got the mounts to secure all those accessories to your kayak that you “need” to take with you.
  • Coolers: Keep your beverages and food cold. Particularly your beverages.
  • Bungees/Straps: Tying loose objects down will prevent loss in case of a wipeout or turning over.
  • First Aid Kits: Be prepared for minor injuries when you’re far from shore.
  • Scupper Plugs: Prevent choppy water from entering your sit-on-top kayak’s scupper holes. Remove to drain water from above.
  • Motors: Adding auxiliary propulsion frees up your arms and hands for fishing, photography or just relaxing.
