A variety of adapters make trailer wiring connections easy.
For the uninitiated, connecting your trailer’s electrical plug to your vehicle’s electrical system can be a problem when the respective connectors don’t match. Fortunately, West Marine offers a wide variety of trailer wire socket and plug adapters (sometimes called trailer hitch electrical adapters), connectors and extensions to make this job easy. So for example, if your trailer’s electrical plug happens to be a four pole round and you need to connect to a four pole flat there is an adapter for that. Other examples include seven pole blade to four pole flat and seven pole blade to four pole pin—and there are many more. Brands of boat trailer electrical connectors offered include Reese, Sierra and yours truly—West Marine.
