Chief Financial Officer
Shane enjoys working with great teams and brands to solve problems, surprise and delight customers, and yield outstanding results. He has built strong teams and driven sales, profitability, and cash flow at multiple best–in–class retail and e–commerce companies.
In his career, he has worked for six different private equity companies where he has driven shareholder value and provided critical financial leadership, including preparing a multi–billion–dollar company to go public. He is known for his strong analytical capability, uncompromising integrity, operational mindset, and ability to collaborate cross–functionally.
He was blessed with strong training opportunities early in his career. His first job after obtaining his undergraduate degree was with Dillard’s Department Stores where he managed the men’s area of their store in Flagstaff, AZ. He regards this as one of the toughest jobs he has ever had but also notes that it provided invaluable perspective regarding retail challenges on the front lines. Later, he worked at Limited Brands where he had extensive involvement in merchandising analysis, financial planning, store operations, and real estate.
Shane has learned the importance of focusing on exceeding customer expectations and providing exceptional value. He credits that passion to the five years he spent leading Global Financial Planning & Analysis at Amazon where he also learned to think big and never settle.
More recently, Shane drove outstanding financial results and shareholder value as CFO of Backcountry.com and CFO/COO of 1–800 Contacts. He looks forward to applying those experiences in his current role as Chief Financial Officer.
Shane grew up in Jackson, WY where he learned to love the outdoors. His hobbies include hiking, photography, and mountain biking. He also enjoys cooking and spending time with his family.
Shane holds an MBA from the Marriott School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Brigham Young University.
